Leveraging Right to Information against Trafficking and Unsafe Migration in Post Disaster Reconstruction

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between National Information Commission (NIC) and UN Women Nepal to leverage Right to Information for achieving gender equality. To implement the MOU, a project “Leveraging Right to information against Trafficking and Unsafe Migration in the Post-Disaster Reconstruction” is being implemented in partnership with Media Advocacy Group (MAG). The project is supported by the Zonta International under the Future We Want (FWW) project. The objective of the project is to promote women’s RTI in the post-disaster context in Dhading, Sindupalchowk and Kathmandu districts. For the first quarter, dating from the month of September to December, MAG has successfully accomplished the implementation of the following activities in all the three districts.

  • Formation of Advisory Committee
  • Programme Inception Workshop
  • Development of draft Guideline for Women to Access RTI
  • Selection of and Capacity Development of RTI Champions
