In response to escalating cyber-security concerns for women in politics, the Media Advocacy Group (MAG) and Tewa conducted the “Cyber-Security Training for Women Politicians” on April 2nd and 7th, 2024. This pivotal event aimed to empower women politicians by equipping them with critical cyber-security knowledge and practical skills to effectively navigate digital threats. The training focused on raising awareness of cyber-security risks, building resilience against cyber threats, and enhancing digital literacy. It addressed unique online challenges such as cyberbullying and harassment, and provided practical guidance on account certification, blocking offensive content, and implementing prevention mechanisms. Participants also received insights into relevant laws and regulations, bolstering their ability to safeguard their online presence and actively contribute to political affairs. The initiative aimed to support their secure engagement in cyber-security legislation, technology governance, and contemporary technological discussions.
