On April 10, 2026, Media Advocacy Group, in partnership with UN Women, successfully convened the Media Compact Signing Ceremony in Bagmati Province. The event featured an introduction to the Media Compact, an engaging panel discussion on “Shaping Perceptions – The Role of Media in Portraying Women in the Public Eye,” the official signing ceremony, and a networking session that brought together key media stakeholders and partners. This significant milestone reflects a shared commitment to advancing gender-responsive media practices and promoting more inclusive, ethical, and equitable narratives across Nepal’s media landscape. Going beyond conventional reporting, the initiative reinforces the importance of fair, respectful, and inclusive representation of women in all spheres—particularly in political coverage—while strengthening the integrity of journalism, fostering inclusivity, and contributing to a more equitable and democratic media environment.
